Paul Konerko ranks among the greatest players in White Sox franchise history in several categories, but stats don’t begin to explain why he is so beloved.

Yankees top prospect Luis Severino didn’t allow a hit in five innings in his return from injury and No. 2 prospect Aaron Judge hit a walk-off sac fly for the Thunder in the 13th inning.

The Indians handed the White Sox their first home series loss after five straight victories by virtue of a 5-0 shutout Thursday night at U.S. Cellular Field. Cleveland claimed the last three games of this four-game set, allowing six runs in total over the four.

No one needed a celebratory postgame beer shower more than Kyle Hendricks, who was finally able to party with his teammates on Thursday.

Following a nightmarish start to the season, the Indians are starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. With a 5-2 victory over the White Sox on Thursday night, the Indians have won three straight games for the first time this season. They took three of four against previously red-hot Chicago and also have won back-to-back series for the first time.

The Braves broke open a tight game with seven runs in the bottom of the seventh in a 10-1 win over the Brewers on Thursday night.

Kris Bryant didn’t play at Petco Park during his three years at the University of San Diego, but the Cubs’ top prospect looked right at home Thursday night when he hit his fifth home run of the season.

Devon Travis was out of the lineup for the fifth straight game as the Blue Jays played the Angels in the series finale on Thursday.

David DeJesus provided most of the offense and the Rays’ pitching did its part in a 3-0 win over the A’s on Thursday night with a crowd of 10,605 watching at Tropicana Field. The victory lifted Tampa Bay into sole possession of first place in the AL East, a half-game ahead of the idle Yankees.

Brewers left-hander Will Smith was ejected in the seventh inning of Thursday’s game against the Braves because of a foreign substance found on his right arm.

Kris Bryant hit a two-run home run in the first inning and Kyle Hendricks threw his first career complete game and shutout Thursday as the Cubs defeated the Padres, 3-0, before a crowd of 30,021 at Petco Park.

Julio Teheran may never be the overpowering pitcher he was touted as when he was younger, but he showed he can be a consistently effective starter — like in Thursday’s 10-1 win over the Brewers when he struck out eight over seven innings.

David DeJesus has been swinging a reliable bat of late, and that trend continued Thursday night in the Rays’ 3-0 victory over the Athletics at Tropicana Field.

Alex Colome needed to rebound from a bad stretch, and he managed to do so Thursday night in the Rays’ 3-0 win over the A’s at Tropicana Field. “Can’t say enough about Alex Colome, what he provided tonight,” Rays manager Kevin Cash said.

Wandy Rodriguez kept the Red Sox in their offensive funk while leading the Rangers to an 3-1 victory in the rubber match of a three-game series.
