For two teams that had been having trouble scoring runs and hitting homers most of the season, Kansas City and St. Louis did rather well in both departments Tuesday night. But it was the Royals who took an 8-7 victory over the Cardinals on Eric Hosmer’s ninth-inning RBI hit.
