Pierzynski, Braves thrilled to play at Ft. Bragg

Instead of simply extending the usual tradition of providing entertainment via a ballgame that precedes a fireworks display, the Braves will spend a portion of this year’s 4th of July weekend feeling a unique sense of patriotism while bringing Major League Baseball to the United States’ most populated military base.

Harvey fires heat, but ‘work to be done’

This was Spring Training as the postcards depict it: a sunny day at Disney World, a tidy crowd of 6,000 strong lazing away the afternoon. Matt Harvey was on the mound for the first three innings of a 5-4 Mets loss to the Braves, but for most in attendance, it hardly seemed to matter. They were happy just to watch a ballgame.

Stanton day to day after testing sore knee

Giancarlo Stanton arrived early to Marlins camp on Tuesday, and he took part in a series of drills to test his sore right knee. The three-time All-Star right fielder did some light running, hit in the cages and threw. However, Stanton wasn’t in the lineup for the Marlins’ 1-0 win over the Yankees at Roger Dean Stadium, and he remains listed as day to day.
