Eager to bounce back, Kimbrel does just that

Before Wednesday’s 11-6 win over the Rangers, Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel made it clear to manager John Farrell how much he wanted to get back in there after shouldering one of the worst performances of his career on Tuesday, when he faced four batters and didn’t get any out in a 7-2 loss.

Red Sox plan X-rays for Shaw’s bruised left foot

Red Sox third baseman Travis Shaw will undergo X-rays to determine the extent of an injury sustained when he fouled a ball off his left foot in the bottom of the fourth inning of Wednesday night’s 11-6 win over the Rangers at Fenway Park. Shaw’s initial diagnosis is a left foot contusion. However, manager John Farrell acknowledged at least the possibility of there being more damage.
