Paul Goldschmidt’s season is likely finished, D-backs manager Kirk Gibson revealed on Sunday. The two-time All-Star first baseman was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured left hand on Saturday, a day after he was struck by a fastball from Pirates reliever Ernesto Frieri in the ninth inning of a 9-4 loss.
Reyes dings injured right shoulder on slide
Blue Jays shortstop Jose Reyes survived a major scare in Sunday’s 6-1 loss to the Astros when his right shoulder collided with the leg of Marwin Gonzalez during a head-first slide. Reyes remained in the game and went 3-for-4 at the plate.

Fans marvel at one-arm sensation at NYBC
