The Rockies tendered 2015 contract offers to all of their arbitration-eligible players before Tuesday night’s deadline. The only member of the 40-man roster to be non-tendered was Kraig Sitton.

As had been anticipated, the Cardinals tendered contracts to all of their arbitration-eligible players except Daniel Descalso before Tuesday’s deadline. By choosing not to move forward in the arbitration process with Descalso, the Cardinals have freed the utility infielder up to negotiate with any club.

The Angels non-tendered infielder Gordon Beckham and starter Wade LeBlanc on Tuesday, as expected, saving $6 million or so in salary commitments for the 2015 season. Right-hander Yoslan Herrera, who was still three years away from arbitration, was also non-tendered, putting the Angels’ 40-man roster at 37 players.

The Rangers announced on Tuesday that they have decided not to offer a contract to pitcher Alexi Ogando, making him a free agent. Ogando, one of the few remaining members of the 2010-11 World Series teams, had been eligible for arbitration.

Torii Hunter has agreed to a one-year, $10.5 million contract with the Twins, two Major League sources told MLB.com on Tuesday night. The Twins, however, haven’t confirmed with an official announcement because the deal is still pending a physical.

The Cubs non-tendered catcher John Baker and left-handed reliever Wesley Wright on Tuesday, reducing the 40-man roster to 37. Chicago did tender contracts to right-handed pitchers Jake Arrieta and Pedro Strop, left-handed pitchers Felix Doubront and Travis Wood, catcher Welington Castillo, infielder Luis Valbuena
and outfielders Chris Coghlan and Justin Ruggiano.

The Astros tendered contracts to all of their arbitration-eligible players on Tuesday night: Carlos Corporan, Chris Carter, Marwin Gonzalez, Dexter Fowler, Tony Sipp, Jason Castro and Hank Conger.

In a somewhat surprising move, the Padres non-tendered shortstop Everth Cabrera on Tuesday, which likely signals the end of his six-year career with the organization.

Right-hander Michael Kohn elected to become a free agent after the Rays outrighted him while setting their 40-man roster. Kohn, 28, had a 3.52 ERA in 88 appearances the past two seasons with the Angels.

As the Braves evaluate potential trades involving sluggers Justin Upton and Evan Gattis, they have been showing some interest in Nick Markakis, a free agent who could fill one of the voids that might soon exist in Atlanta’s outfield.

Based on his talent and production when healthy, Jhoulys Chacin could be a bright spot in the Rockies’ rotation if he can put his injury issues in the past.
