But the Yanks’ offense chipped away to rally behind Pineda and New York ultimately pulled out an 8-6 win. Greg Bird’s three-run shot in the seventh broke open a tie and ended up being the difference-maker for the Yanks, who pulled to within a half-game of the Blue Jays in the American League East.
