Had Adam Conley worked a quick eighth inning, Don Mattingly would have considered sending the young left-hander back out to try to complete a no-hitter Friday night. But to Mattingly, the decision to remove Conley became easy when it took the 25-year-old 16 pitches to get the first two outs of the eighth.
