The Mets’ collection of bright young pitchers received a jolt on Thursday, when Mets doctors diagnosed top prospect Steven Matz with a partial tear of the lat muscle in his left side. Matz will miss his scheduled start Sunday against the D-backs and refrain from throwing for three weeks.
