The Angels announced Jerry Dipoto’s resignation as general manager on Wednesday, five days after sources said he was involved in a heated discussion with Mike Scioscia and his coaching staff. Bill Stoneman, the Angels’ GM when they won the World Series in 2002, has been named interim GM.
