Angels land veteran Victorino from Red Sox

The Angels acquired veteran outfielder Shane Victorino from the Red Sox on Monday. In exchange, Triple-A shortstop Josh Rutledge was sent to Boston, which will pay the majority of the prorated portion remaining on Victorino’s contract. The 34-year-old Victorino is making $13 million in his final season before free agency, but the Angels will only be responsible for a little more than $1 million — with the Sox covering $3.8 million of the remaining $4.9 million — a source told MLB.com.
