Yangervis Solarte, who won a job on the Yankees roster with his bat in Spring Training and proceeded to keep hitting through the first week of June, was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after Wednesday’s 6-3 loss to Tampa Bay. The Yankees replaced Solarte by signing infielder Zelous Wheeler.
