For the second straight year, Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista’s season has come to a premature end. Toronto has elected to shut down Bautista due to the bone bruise that has sidelined him since Aug. 21. The four-time All-Star is expected to return at 100 percent for Spring Training in 2014.
