It took a 39-minute rain delay for the Red Sox to finally string a few hits together against the Rays. They had the tying run at third base in Daniel Nava. There was a fly ball hit to left by Brandon Snyder. And Nava appeared to beat Sam Fuld’s throw. But umpire Jerry Meals saw the play differently and ruled Nava out at the plate.
