Scratch third base off the Marlins’ winter shopping list. On Thursday afternoon, Miami announced the signing of free agent Placido Polanco, a two-time All-Star and three-time Gold Glove Award winner. After passing his physical, the 37-year-old signed a one-year, $2.75 million contract.
