Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe was a late scratch from the lineup against the Indians on Friday, and was placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to July 21 with a bruised right thumb. Third baseman Danny Valencia was recalled from Triple-A Rochester to take his place on the roster.
