The Cubs appear to be making room on the roster for Cuban outfielder Jorge Soler. On Wednesday, pitcher Randy Wells was designated for assignment, and right-handed pitcher Rafael Dolis was recalled from Triple-A Iowa. Wells did have options left, but by designating him, he was removed from the Cubs' 40-man roster, which is now at 39.
