Three Mets teams have produced better home winning percentages. In 1988, the club was 56-24 (.700); the 1986 team went 55-26 (.679); and in 2000, that Mets finished 55-26.

Scioscia: Angels know what they need to do

The Angels responded to their most devastating loss of the season by showing up early. Five hours before Monday’s first pitch, and roughly 21 hours after Sunday’s ninth-inning meltdown, basically their entire active roster took part in early workouts at Safeco Field, the grind transforming into a necessary distraction.

Prince pulls Rangers closer to the top

Prince Fielder hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning, giving the Rangers a 5-3 victory over the Astros in the opener of their four-game series on Monday night. The victory moved the Rangers to within a half-game of the Astros in the American League West, and the two teams are tied in the loss column.
