Prado likely full-time 5th batter behind Giancarlo

Throughout Spring Training, manager Don Mattingly has tinkered with various batting orders. Giancarlo Stanton has been a staple in the cleanup spot, and that will continue in the regular season. But who bats behind Stanton in the fifth spot has either been Justin Bour against right-handed starters or Martin Prado with a lefty on the mound. That slot may end up getting more stability.

Tomorrow the world? MLB prospects to watch in 2016

This is a tough week at Spring Training. All across the Cactus and Grapefruit Leagues, teams are finalizing their rosters in preparation for Opening Day. That means trimming, tailoring and slicing off of the 40-man roster at the expense of prospects around the league, which are being optioned, released and reassigned in typical last-week fashion.

NL Central: What to expect in 2016

The three winningest teams in the Major Leagues last season were in this division, and the Cardinals, Pirates and Cubs should again make hay against the rebuilding Reds and Brewers. The Cards have won the Central three years in a row and have gone to the playoffs the past five seasons; the Pirates have been a Wild Card each of the past three years. But the Cubs beat both teams in the postseason last year and have since imported Jason Heyward and John Lackey from St. Louis and added Ben Zobrist after he helped the Royals win the World Series. The stage is set for a great race.
