Ring ceremony culmination of Royals’ crown

This was the ceremony the Royals truly couldn’t wait for — the handing out of their 2015 World Series championship rings. The ceremony started about 40 minutes prior to Tuesday afternoon’s series finale against the Mets, and one by one, from owner David Glass to general manager Dayton Moore to manager Ned Yost and the players, all received their rings to tremendous ovations.

Weaver ready to silence doubters on mound

Jered Weaver completed a four-inning simulated game from Angel Stadium early Tuesday afternoon and was later asked if he was ready — to pitch in games that actually count, to take the mound with an 80-mph fastball, to tame the planet’s greatest hitters with a repertoire that, in recent years, has become a target of equal parts wonder and ridicule.
