Balloting is underway through 4 p.m. ET on Friday in the Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Vote, a 92-hour blitz in which unique campaign alliances will form, digital balloting records probably will fall, and you decide the 34th and final roster spots for the 87th Midsummer Classic next Tuesday at Petco Park in San Diego.

All-Star rosters packed with dynamic talent

On Tuesday night’s Esurance All-Star Selection Show, starting lineups and rosters for the American League and National League clubs were announced for the 87th Midsummer Classic, and fans now have until 4 p.m. ET on Friday to participate in the Esurance All-Star Game Final Vote to determine how the rosters round out.

Unable to enlist in Reserves, Pena to work with Army

Shortly after tweeting that he planned to join the United States Army Reserve, backup catcher Brayan Pena clarified on Tuesday that because of his contract with the Cardinals, he will not officially enlist. That will keep Pena from having to meet the requirements of attending two days of training each month and being eligible for deployment.

Morneau has first rehab game under his belt

Justin Morneau began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Monday with two hitless at-bats. Serving as the team’s designated hitter, Morneau grounded out to first in the first inning and hit into a double play in the third, but the results weren’t nearly as important as the process as he works his way back from offseason surgery to repair the primary flexor in his left elbow.
