What began with a called third strike on James McCann became a long, antagonistic night between the Tigers and home-plate umpire Mike Everitt, who ejected designated hitter Victor Martinez, hitting coach Wally Joyner, manager Brad Ausmus and right fielder J.D. Martinez in a four-inning span of the Tigers’ 3-2 loss to the Angels on Saturday at Comerica Park.
